Floatie Suit

I got Jonah this floatie swimsuit for when we're at the pool in the Dominican Republic next week. I've heard that it's better for teaching kids to swim than the armband-style floaties. He loves the suit! I took it off him and he just wanted me to put it on again! I think it looks hilarious on him.

Hair Cut

Jonah is very patient while Jon cuts his hair. He was very intrigued by seeing his hair on the floor and having it stuck to his feet.

Tricky Tractor

Jon was on the computer last week with Jonah looking up videos on YouTube. Since Jonah is really into trucks and tractors right now, they watched this video called "Tricky Tractor". It's basically a slide show of pictures of tractors accompanied by techno music and some guy saying some stuff in Dutch. I don't know exactly what they're saying, but toward the end they say, "Ja!" and have it printed all big across the screen. This has become Jonah's favorite YouTube video and if I ask if he wants to watch "Tricky Tractor" he'll reply with an enthusiastic, "JA!" The music is also very catchy. Watch it once or twice and see if it doesn't get stuck in your head, too.

If we're not watching Tricky Tractor, Jonah always wants to watch basketball. He calls it "BACK-sih-go" or "BACK-a-go". The three-sylable words are still a little challenging these days. I've got him watching the Bulls 1996 championship game in short installments.

The Crowded Car

Here are the pictures I promised a few weeks ago. We were playing with a friend and Jonah was very excited to ride in his little car. Apparently this other little boy always likes to load up his car with stuff. It didn't really matter to him that Jonah happened to be in the car. He took all the books from his book shelf and loaded up as usual with Jonah inside. As you can see from his facial expression, Jonah didn't quite know what to think about this. We were in the kitchen while this was going on and so we didn't see much of the proccess, but just the final result of Jonah burried in a sea of books. I laughed so hard I almost wet my pants!

"Why is this kid doing this to me? I just wanted to ride in the little car!"

Skyline Drive

Last weekend we had absolutely gorgeous weather (not so much this weekend) and we took a family excursion to Charlottesville, VA. We visited James Monroe's home, which is right next to Jefferson's Monticello, walked around the downtown area, and took the scenic route home on Skyline Drive.

We thought it would be funny to take a pregnant version of the classic "car model" shot.
And of course we had to get Jonah in a picture, too.

Jonah was losing patience toward the end of the trip and we were trying everything to keep him entertained. We gave him an umbrella to look at and you can guess the outcome.
