Cuteness

Jonah plays the ukulele.
Something about being in a box is just so exciting.
If you look closely you can see his two teeth on the bottom.

Uncle Paul's in town!

My brother, Paul, is in Albuquerque for the next three weeks doing training at Kirtland Air Force Base. How crazy that we should both end up here of all places, even if only for a short time. He arrived on Saturday night and went to church with us on Sunday. We drove up to the Sandia Peak Sunday afternoon to show Paul the sights. His wife, Vashti, will join him next week along with their baby girl in utero. I can't wait!

The Hike

We took advantage of cooler temperatures on Sunday afternoon (85 degrees as opposed to the usual 95!) and took a short hike in the foothills by our apartment.

It was a little overcast and we started to hear rumbles of thunder.
It started to sprinkle as we neared the car and I got excited about using the Buffin's rain cover for his backpack.

Within minutes of being back in the car we were in a major downpour. Hail started pelting the car and we couldn't see more than 25 feet. I was so thankful we had made it back in time. I can't imagine trying to get down the hill with the Buffin in those conditions. The Lord really had mercy on us! Lesson learned: When you're in the hills and you hear thunder, take it seriously.

Buffin's Boo Boo

We're not quite sure how it happened, but Jonah got a cut on his finger and it was bleeding quite a bit. So we put a Band-aid on it. Of course all he wanted to do was bite the Band-aid and pull it off. Jon had the brilliant idea to cover his hand with a sock so he couldn't mess with the Band-aid. Then all he wanted to do was pull the sock off so we put a sock on the other hand, too. Problem solved! (With the added benefit of one hilarious-looking Buffin!)

Occupational Hazzard

This is what met Jon on the runway after he landed the other day.
